New: Civilians needed to be extracted from ACI

So, what took seven-hours? As much as Governor McKee attempted to downplay the situation at the ACI Friday night, DEPETRO.com has learned according to prison sources that both RIDOC civilians and Correctional officers needed to be extracted during the seven-hour standoff, before prisoners surrendered shortly before 2: AM.  At one point during the standoff as many as sixty prisoners were in the yard refusing to return to their cells. Negotiations were very tense at times and prisoners could be heard screaming into the night for officers to stay back. Developing.
