Today around 9:30 AM police responded to 632 Greenville Ave. in reference to a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police learned a male suspect was at the house in violation of a domestic no-contact order. The victim/protected person of the no-contact order exited the residence unharmed prior to the arrival of police.
The male suspect, who was alone in the house, was uncooperative and barricaded himself in the residence. Johnston Police Crises Negotiators responded to the scene and were able to establish and maintain a line of communication with the male. After a 4-hour long standoff, the crises negotiator was able to get the male to exit the residence on his own accord and he surrendered to police without incident.
The suspect identified as Jamil Skinner, age 36, of Providence is being charged with Violation of a No-contact Order- 3rd & Subsequent Offense (Felony).
