In the spring of 2021 Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee had a 59% approval rating but that is long gone. McKee comes in below 40% approval as voters are ready for change. McKee is the least popular Governor in the country and far below governors of neighboring states. Keep in mind this is before negative attack ads start showing up that highlight the FBI probe of his administration, the $3k bonuses to bribe state workers for votes and his former chief of staff troubles. He had a chance but seems to have blown it. McKee will get lit up on the debate stage but he will be forced into it.
