Above is DEPETRO.com, Valley Breeze and NBC-10 links on the story involving former Patriot player Patrick Pass and an incident at Planet Fitness in North Providence. If you check the links above, you will see basically the same information put out by the North Providence police and Mayor of North Providence, (with the exception of CH10 who had an interview with the 82 yr-old victim). We have not done any further stories on this and have let the case make its way through the court system. Therefore, it was surprising to see a Facebook Post from a friend of Patrick Pass making derogatory remarks, somehow intimating he was not treated fairly, and requesting an update.

We have no idea who Eric is, but he demanded “real reporting,” and shared a post made by Patrick Pass.

Patrick Pass claims “no charges against me from the gym incident,” but that is not entirely true of what is found in the court system. The charge of felony assault was progressing and headed to trial. The “BIGGER person in this sutuation.” Is he referring to the victim? Police? AG? Mayor?

In June, the defense referred to the Diversion program. However, on August 19, 2025, the Pass motion to be considered for the Diversion eligibility program was denied because the Attorney General’s office did not recommend it. Two months later on October 23, 2025, Patrick Pass again had a hearing for Diversion eligibility, with the judge allowed to decide if the defendant is eligible for the program, (but often limited to non-violent offenses). The same day of the hearing October 30, Patrick Pass was accepted into the Diversion program, despite being charged with felony assault on a person over sixty and denied two months prior.  It should be noted there will be a progress review on January 29, 2026, in front of a judge, and “if the defendant fails to comply, the case proceeds with normal prosecution.” Pass was fined $250, but unknown exactly what he must do between now and January 29, 2026.

So, there is the update requested. Unknown if there will be a civil suit, or if Pass is allowed back at Planet Fitness in North Providence. The video tape of the incident has still not been released.
