The new year brings good news to former Hendricken hoop coach Rob “Mac” McClanaghan, as he gets his bail reduced after his attorney made a strong case at his recent bail hearing. Attorney Kelli Porges had the judge reduce his bail from $30,000 to $10,000 bail, after toxicology reports fail to show “common date-rape drugs” in the system of the victim. Porges also argued the photo Rob Mac texted the victim was from a porn site and not a photo of him and the victim. The victim had told police the woman in the picture looked like her and she identified a watch in the picture to a watch he was wearing. Porges also claims the video of Rob Mac sprinkling a substance in her drink was done playfully and he merely pretended to do that. Where does the case go from here? No charges have been dropped and Rob Mac remains out on bail on the charges of First-degree rape and drugging for the purpose of committing the act of rape. The prosecutor said the case may head to a grand jury. Rob McClanaghan has plead not guilty to the charges.
