Wow. State Police made a major grab on Friday afternoon with the stop and arrest of Kyrell Clark and Rashaad Martin, both are known to law-enforcement. There must be a reason State Police were on to them Friday afternoon.
Rhode Island State Police Arrest Two Men and Seize Two Handguns During Motor Vehicle Stop in Providence
On Friday, February 24, 2023, at approximately 1:35 PM, Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks conducted a motor vehicle stop for traffic violations on Russo Street in the City of Providence During the motor vehicle stop, the operator of the vehicle fled on foot and was taken into custody a short time later. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded 9mm Luger pistol was located in the driver’s side door pocket and a loaded 9mm Taurus pistol was located in the glove compartment. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Kyrell Clark, age 31 of Providence, and was charged with 1) Two counts of License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2) Two counts of Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, 3) Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Crime of Violence, 4) Possession of a Weapon other than a Firearm (Knife over 3″), 5) Obstructing an Officer in the Execution of his Duty, and 6) Disorderly Conduct. The passenger was identified as Rashaad Martin, age 36, of Providence, and was charged with 1) Two counts of License or Permit Required for Carrying a Pistol, 2) Two counts of Large Capacity Feeding Devices Prohibited, and 3) Conspiracy. Both Clark and Martin were placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks. Clark was arraigned and transported to the ACI and held as a bail violator. Martin was arraigned and transported to the ACI pending a bail hearing.
