Incoming mayor Socialist David Morales has tapped Providence City Council Chief of Staff June Rose to lead his transition team and Rose is expected to be named Chief of staff. Rose has been a lighting rod of controversy since being arrested twice for anti-Israel protests plus choice of wardrobe for gender. Morales sends a loud message by choosing a transgender man who is also antisemitic, wants to defund the police and abolish prisons. Chief of Staff for the mayor of Providence normally is very involved with incoming businesses, the city council and also dealing with Smith Hill. If Helena Foulkes becomes the Governor her staff will have their hands full dealing with the likes of June Rose.
