From someone who lived there: “I just saw an article about how echo village through house of hope is a really good thing for them to do for the homeless and this is what I have to say about that.

Yes it would be great to do better if that was what their plan was in the first place. I used to live there and this place is an absolute disgrace. Homeless people are better off on the street. It is supposed to be a drug free place and everyone walks around with pipes and needles. Causing ppl who live there as well as staff to relapse. You have to worry about stepping on needles and catching a disease. The manager has bought drugs for ppl, and knowingly lets drugs be sold. They say they feed you 3 meals and your lucky to get more than one. The bathrooms are in the worst condition possible, and there is supposed to be 4, however, people flush needles down the toilet, there-fore, you are lucky if there are 2 bathrooms for 45 different people to use. They were just given 8 million dollars and have not housed not one person nor have they used it for anyone whom lives at echo village. They use it for their personal stuff as well as going out to lunch every week. House of hope used to be good for people but now they have absolutely no hope anymore. You have a manager that has already been fired from the Sojourner house —- who has told me things that should have never been spoken like who was in Butler hospital and when they would be returning as well as the fact that her and —- had taken a little bit of the fentanyl that goes around the village and had it tested and it was a mixture of fentanyl xylazine and acetone and still allowed it to be sold around the village. There is a new employee who knowingly gave information which she shouldn’t have…. Last week me and my husband were arguing and I called and got permission to stay out because I didn’t feel safe, and —- told my husband that it was written in the shift notes that I was staying out with permission. That’s not only violating HIPPA but also putting my life in danger of he was to come after me and she told him not to tell anyone she told him because she could get into trouble.”
