Senator blames crime on cops

Providence State Senator Tiara Mack blames Providence Police for the uptick in violent crime. Mack was elected back in November and has been a vocal critic of police.  Mack is a member of Black Lives Matter and lives less than one mile from University Heights, although she has not posted anything on social media regarding the murder of a young white woman from Warwick last week in her neighborhood. After the gang shootout that left nine people shot in May, Mack blamed poor water and air quality for the violence. Senator Mack is wrong about police because an increase in police patrolling is a proven deterrent to crime and less crime improves quality of life. When questioned, Mack parrots talking points about community and the need for more social programs.
