The Central Falls Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting on Washington Street near Chestnut Street. This incident was reported to police on Saturday night at approximately 11:00pm. When officers arrived, they discovered two victims a male and a female were struck by gunfire. The female was pronounced deceased on scene, and the male was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. This incident was not random, and the individuals appear to be targeted. At this time there is no threat to the public. The department will not be releasing any further information regarding the case at this time and we cannot provide the names of victims until proper notification is made to next of kin.
