Exclusive: Passerby video of state trooper allowed to drive drunk

eye witness: ” I was driving home about 1:45 Sunday morning I had just got on route six heading towards Johnston went right before the Hartford Avenue exit I saw this guy start swerving so I pulled out the phone to record and a few seconds later he hit the guard rail and kept driving. After I hit, the guard rail is when I called the police and I continued to following him down route six all the way to where it wraps around and gets on 295. At that point, the dispatcher told me to just follow him with my flashers on from a safe distance until they got there, there was actually a state trooper on the side of the road right before that exit so I beeped and flashed my lights but he didn’t move. So, I continue to follow the guy onto 295 where I watched him almost go straight into the ditch and then drive into the grass on the left that separates both sides of the highway and then come back on the road. One of the videos is of him coming back onto the road from the median because by the time I was off the phone with the dispatcher and could record again. We drove until about exit 6 where the police finally caught up with them. You actually see my car in the news article driving behind him with my flashers on I pulled over with them and not even 30 seconds later, they waved me off and told me to leave. Didn’t even get a chance to tell him about the videos or anything.”
