On 6-30-24 at approx 8pm, Providence Police responded to the area of 490 Cranston St. for scene of shots fired. A 23-year-old shooting victim from that scene was located at RI Hospital for a gunshot wound to the leg moments later. Detectives investigated and warrants for three subjects, Jose Diaz 19, for using a firearm during a crime of violence, possession of a firearm without a license and Jalen Santiago 18 and Julian Santiago 20 for felony assault and conspiracy. On 7/5/24, Jalen Santiago was apprehended by PPD Violent Task Force officers. On 7/10/24 Julian Santiago was apprehended in East Providence on other charges.  On 7/11/24, members of the violent fugitive task force apprehended Jose Diaz in Warwick R.I.
