The largest mass shooting in the history of Providence took place on Carolina Avenue in the Washington Park section of the city with nine people shot in a gang drive-by. A wild scene played out as the victims sped off to Rhode Island hospital with police in pursuit. Mayor Elorza held a street press briefing with  the Chief of Providence Police.  John DePetro was on the scene with a live feed. Police say dozens of rounds were fired in the gang attack between GMF and Lakeside.
